SSC GD Physical Requirements for Male Candidates
Male candidates belonging to the General, SC & OBC categories must be at least 170 cm tall and should have minimum chest expansion of 5cm and unexpanded chest measurement should be 80cm. Height and chest measurements for male candidates belonging to other categories are provided below.

SSC GD PST Eligibility for Female Candidates
In SSC GD Physical Standard Test, no chest measurements of female candidates will be taken. Female candidates belonging to scheduled tribes must be 150cm tall and those belonging to general &OBC categories have a minimum height of 157cm.

SSC GD PET 2024
The commission will conduct the SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test 2024 after the PST test is over. Candidates belonging to Ladakh or any other region will have to complete race within prescribed time limits for female and male candidates.
- For female candidates who belong to the Ladakh region, physical running time is 5 minutes in 800 metres and candidates who belongs to other regions have to complete 1.6 Km running in 8½ minutes.
- Male candidates who belong to Ladakh region have to complete 1.6 km of running in 7 minutes and for other region candidates it is 5km race which has to be completed in 24 minutes.

As per the official notification, there are no chest specifications or criteria for female candidates. However, male candidates must meet the SSC GD PST chest requirement to advance further in the recruitment process. Once the PST test is completed, the commission will administer the SSC GD Physical Endurance TEST 2024. It differs for male and female candidates. The candidates who qualify in the physical test will be called for the SSC GD medical test. It will be done by the Medical Officer and below are the various criteria that candidates need to fulfil to clear this stage.
It is important to note that SSC GD Medical exam requirement is same for both male and female candidates.
