JNVST 6th Admission 2025: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has officially opened the application window for Class 6 admissions to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) for the academic session 2025-26. Applicants seeking admission to Class 6 at Navodaya Vidyalaya can submit their applications for the academic session 2025-26 by visiting the official website, navodaya.gov.in.

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti invited the online application to provide admission in Class 6th for academic year 2025-26 in various Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) located all over India. The NVS conduct the enterance examination for it.

JNVST 2025 Exam Pattern

Mental Ability: 40 questions, 50 marks, 60 minutesArithmetic: 20 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutesLanguage: 20 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutesTotal: 80 objective questions for 100 marks across all sections.

The exam will last for 2 hours from 11.30am to 1.30pm, with an additional 40 minutes provided for students with disabilities.

JNVST Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria 

The applicants must have been born between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015 (both the dates are inclusive)

The applicants seeking admission must not be a class repeaters, i.e. not passed class 6 before academic session 2024-25

Rural candidate eligibility

75 per cent of the district seat is reserved for rural area candidates, while the remaining is open for both rural and urban candidates.

Students seeking admission through rural quota should have finished their classes 3, 4 and 5.

Candidates applying under the rural quota must have completed their classes 3, 4 and 5 at from a government school or recognised rural school.

Their Class 5 must be completed in the same district where they are seeking JNVST class 6 admission.

National Institute of Open School (NIOS) students have to submit their rural status certificate, mentioning a minimum of three years of residency and education in the area issued by the concerned local authority.

Urban candidate eligibility

Students who received schooling from urban area (even for a day) in classes 3, 4 and 5 will be considered urban candidates.

Scanned passport-size photograph of the student.

2. Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by a competent authority, if applicable.

3. Domicile certificate to prove residence in a rural area.

4. Disability certificate issued by a government medical board, if applicable.

5. Proof of appearing for Class 5 final exams in the current academic year.

JNVST Admission 2025: Selection Process

JNVST is conducted in two phases:

Phase 1 (Optional):

This phase is optional and held in November 2024 (tentative). Students appearing for this phase will receive separate admit cards.

Phase 2:

The main selection test is scheduled for January 18, 2025 (tentative) for students who do not appear for Phase 1 or those who qualify in Phase 1. There will be a separate exam for students from hilly areas in April 2025 (tentative).

The selection is based on the performance in the JNVST exam. The syllabus and exam pattern for JNVST are designed to assess a student’s ability in Mental Ability, Mathematics, and Science.
